NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL announces third season of emmy-nomiNated hit series DOG WHISPERER with Cesar Millan

New Episodes Currently in Production – Season Three Premieres in October on New Night

WASHINGTON, D.C. (rushprnews) 07/24/2006-National Geographic Channel’s #1 series Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan has been renewed for a third season.
Production is currently underway on 20 new hour-long episodes. For the first time, the series will travel across the country to come to the aid of problem dogs and their desperate owners.
In addition to Cesar’s home base of Los Angeles, Calif., episodes for the new season will include canine challenges in New York, N.Y.; Atlanta, Ga., Chicago, Ill., Dallas, Texas, Omaha, Neb., and Cleveland, Ohio. Premiering in October and moving to Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the new episodes will also feature celebrities, including Jada Pinkett-Smith and Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen.

A favorite of Oprah Winfrey, Cesar was also parodied on a recent episode of South Park, and his book Cesar’s Way has been a #1 fixture on the New York Times best seller list for the past nine weeks.

The second season of Dog Whisperer – recently nominated for a Primetime Emmy award – included actress Denise Richards learning how to become the pack leader in her house, the reunion of an abandoned Hurricane Katrina dog with its owner and a trip to a women’s correctional facility in Los Vegas where Cesar helped with the Pups on Parole program.

With more than 20 years of experience working with canines, Millan has been called a Dr. Phil for dogs, and for good reason. Each episode of Dog Whisperer documents Cesar’s amazing rehabilitations of aggressive, scared, lazy, compulsive and jealous dogs – and the families who are usually in the dark about how their own behavior contributes to the dogs’ quirky traits.

Dog Whisperer is produced by MPH Entertainment and Emery/Sumner Productions for National Geographic Channel. Executive producers for MPH Entertainment are Jim Milio, Melissa Jo Peltier and Mark Hufnail. Sheila Possner Emery and Kay Bachman Sumner are producers.
