Hillary camp lobbying for Vice Presidential position under Obama, questions linger

ST. PAUL, MN (rushprnews) 6/4/08 - - In a historic development, America has chosen Barack Obama (D-IL) as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. As predicted by Hollywood Today, Barack Obama will be declared victor officially when fellow Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) recognizes she lost her campaign for President within 48 hours. In a campaign that has ignited a civil war in the Democratic Party with innuendos thrown at both camps, the two combatants will soon join together in hopes of defeating Senator John McCain (R-AZ). Obama in his latest speech appears to have moved passed his democratic opponent and moved on towards campaigning against his new opponent, the republican McCain.


Obama has exceeded with 2156 delegates of 2118 needed to win, Hillary has 1923. Even though she would like to stay in the race, the math makes it impossible after candidates split the final two primaries.
Obama wasted no time first praising his new rival McCain for his “valor, then noting “there are many words to describe John McCain’s attempt to pass off his embrace of George Bush’s policies as bipartisan and new. But change is not one of them.” McCain wasted no time in his defense catering to the democrats, “I disagreed strongly with the Bush administration’s mismanagement of the war in Iraq. I called for the change in strategy that is now, at last, succeeding where the previous strategy had failed miserably.”
Clinton, who won the popular vote, will now see her opponent Obama take the reins of the Democratic Party based on the delegate vote count. For eight years the Democratic Party has lobbed bombs against the republican George Bush presidency for stealing the 2000 election from opponent, democrat Al Gore. Now the democrats will do the same to their own, giving the less popular candidate the nomination for President. Barack Obama was a sure underdog nearly one year ago. A long shot at best but with a good chance to further the chances of becoming the first African American President of the United States. Hillary Clinton on the other hand had an inevitable shoe-in to win the democrat nomination for president, the first for a woman…what a difference a year makes.
Many historians and political pundits will review, analyze, and disseminate the 2008 Democrat campaign for US President. Some will wonder how the former first lady of Bill Clinton’s presidency, second term senator from New York and Nixon prosecutor could have lost what should have been a given nomination against a one term senator.
Now that Hillary Clinton appears to be the leading candidate for Vice President under Obama, a position she has stated, “I am open to it,” might be the right combination for a democrat win. It will be up to the voters to decide. John McCain has yet to declare who his vice presidential running mate will be.
Clinton, who has been defiant even in the face of losing her campaign, has not declared Obama the winner publically, although privately should be considered. It appears she is fighting to the end or at least doing her part to stay in the limelight and build up Obama’s campaign.
The Democratic National Convention will be held on August 25 - 28, 2008 in Denver Colorado.

The Republican National Convention will be held on September 1-4, 2008 in St. Paul Minnesota.
The General Election will be held on November 4, 2008.
