New York Post Lindsay Lohan Story a Fake
By Matthew B. Zeidman
NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS) 7/29/08 – Earlier this week, it appeared Lindsay Lohan had been struck by a motorcycle on the streets of Manhattan and subsequently hospitalized. However, a story appearing in the New York Post, which claimed the “Rumors” singer had been hit, turned out to be just a rumor, itself, when a rep for Lohan told media the Sunday-morning incident never occurred.
“You know as well as I do, it’s rumors, and I’m not dealing with this stuff anymore,” the entertainer’s father, Michael, told Access Hollywood through show co-host and presidential cousin Billy Bush’s radio show Monday. Despite telling Bush he spoke with Lohan’s mother, Dina, who confirmed to him she was uninjured, he appeared to be unaware of the fabricated nature of the incident when he was quoted in the New York Post Sunday, expressing relief his daughter, 22, was not hurt.
“First I heard a motorcycle; then I heard a bicycle,” Lohan’s dad told Bush. “I heard all different kinds of stories.”
Meanwhile, DJ Samantha Ronson, a frequent companion of Lohan, dispelled some rumors of her own the day the phony incident was supposed to have occurred, posting a message on her MySpace page flatly denying allegations by the New York Post’s Page Six. The gossip column originally claimed she refused to spin Lohan’s younger sister, Ali’s, new single, “All the Way Around.” Ronson wrote it was “a great f***ing pop song” and balked at the newspaper’s suggestion she turned down a request from mom Dina, herself, at a recent party to play it.
In addition to pursuing her musical efforts, Lohan’s 14-year-old sibling will be starring in the upcoming remake of “Troll,” a 1986 supernatural horror film.
