Two Weeks Before US Vote Obama is Leading in CNN Poll
By VOA News
Washington,DC(RushPRNews)10/22/08- New polls indicate that U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is widening his lead over Republican candidate John McCain, while voters say the failing economy is the top issue on their minds.
A CNN poll averaging the results of six different surveys put Obama's lead at seven points Tuesday, while a Pew Research Center survey gauged support for Obama at 52 percent to McCain's 38 percent. Analysts said the results seem to be based on a loss of confidence in McCain and concerns about the nation's economic problems.
As the November 4 election date draws near, the candidates continue to battle for votes in states that are considered critical to the outcome.

McCain appeared Tuesday in western Pennsylvania, where he questioned Obama's readiness to lead in an international crisis. McCain reminded the audience of his own military service during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.
Obama campaigned in Florida, criticizing McCain's plan for solving the economic crisis.
Obama will take a break from the campaign trail this week to visit his gravely ill grandmother in Hawaii. The Illinois senator is canceling events Thursday and Friday to be with 85-year-old Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him.
Newly released records show Obama has much more campaign money to spend in the final two weeks before Election Day. Records show Obama began October with nearly $134 million in the bank, compared to McCain's $47 million.
