MINNESOTA (RushPRNews)12/07/08-The Lions have lost more than just their roar this season. Mcnabb is back with a vengeance after sitting out after halftime two weeks ago, while Matt Cassel has filled in nicely this season for the injured Tom Brady.
Below are Eric's can't miss NFL picks for week 14.
Picks of the week
1) Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions
Pick: Minnesota –10
The Lions are seriously at risk of having a winless season. I really feel for Lions fans because Detroit plays absolutely terrible at home. Not only are they 0-6 at home, but they are 0-6 against the spread as well. They are being outscored by a margin of 19.7 points per game when they play in Detroit/ The Vikings absolutely cannot afford to lose this one in order gain ground on their lead in the NFC North. Like many teams, they will win this game with their ground attack. They have the fourth best ground attack in the league and are facing the worst rush defense. Like most opponents visiting Ford Field, the Vikings will blowout the Lions.
Prediction: Minnesota 34 Detroit 13
2) Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants
Pick: Over 43
The Giants and the Eagles are two of the most powerful offensive teams in the league. The Giants are averaging 29.3 points per game, meanwhile Philly is averaging 26.6 points. Each team is solid defensively but the reality is that the Eagles cannot afford to lose this game. McNabb is coming off a very impressive performance where he threw for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns. Expect him to continue off where he left. The total of 43 for this game is quite low. The last time these teams met this season they scored a combined 67 points. Expect at least 50 points to be scored in this one.
3) New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks
Pick: New England –6.5
The Pats are coming off a 33-10 embarrassment to Pittsburgh. So far, each time they have lost a game this season, they won the next one and are 4-0 against the spread in those contests, winning by at least 9 points in each of those games. The Seahawks have been terrible this season. They are allowing 25.9 points per game and have the worst ranked pass defense in the NFL. Matt Hasselbeck hasn’t been able to get his offense going since returning from his injury. He has thrown 6 picks and has a QB rating of 57.3 in those contests. Don’t be surprised if this one turns into a blowout.
