War On Wolves Looms: Help Rally To Wolf's Defense

WASHINGTON (RPRN) 02/23/09 — -President Bush may have left office but his wolf-killing policies are more threatening than ever. Your donation is urgently needed to overturn them once and for all. Right now, the Obama Administration is reviewing one of the Bush Administration's most dangerous midnight rules: if put into effect, it will rip away life-saving federal protection for wolves in the Northern Rockies.

Unless this deadly rule is reversed, hundreds of wolves in Greater Yellowstone and central Idaho could be gunned down by hunters and federal agents in the months to come.

The NRDC Action Fund is ramping up a nationwide campaign aimed squarely at persuading the Obama Administration to reject the Bush "war on wolves" and to call off the guns.

The American people have strongly supported the reintroduction of wolves to the Northern Rockies -- and it stands as one of the greatest success stories of the Endangered Species Act.

But powerful hunting and ranching interests are arrayed against wolves. They are determined to decimate as much of the region's wolf population as possible.
