Gen Art kicked off LA Fashion Week new designers and a new location

Very different Fashion Week LA bows

HOLLYWOOD CA (RushPRNews/Hollywood Today) 3/18/09 — Gen Art’s three designers’ Grai,Society For Rational Dress and Raquel Allegra kicked off fashionweek LA’s new location Boxeight downtown LA arts district last night.

Boxeight is originally Los Angeles Theatre located one block from wellknown Orpheum theatre.

Gone is Mercedes Benz sponsor for Smashboxstudios in Culver City that most of us in the model & fashion world started to get used to. Smashboxstudios contact lasted five whole years but Mercedes Benz fashionweek still lives on in New York every season.

This years’ preshows was Petro Zillia with her trunkshow and store reception and Summer Rayne Oakes with her first booksigning event for “Style Naturally” book at Stella McCartney store on Beverly blvd.
In another part of town,Designhouse Idol Radec presented “Rose Ark Street” and K.Brunini Jewerly.
Author and model Summer Rayne explains during her booklaunch that it took her only four months to write this book.She adds:
“My first book will come out as my second because I wanted it to be published in recycle paper-that’s the reason the release has been delayed.

Other pre-events was Konstantine Mahlia’s private cocktail reception at Club 24K to present the jewerly for Robero Cavallis’ fashionshow at the closing night,March 19th. A newcomer in the beautyfield is West Hollywood hairsalon MikiSharon on 642 North Robertson.

The whole staff is French and they are launching L’Oreal Professionnel new texture expert for the fashionweek.
Founder of Boxeight Peter Gurnz announced at the yesterday day:
“I am happy over the big response this season-we have a line-up of twenty -two designers over the last three days.”:
Fashion at Boxeight is not expensive,you can get a daypass for thirtyfive dollars or a threeday pass for hundred and twentyfive”

Opening act Designer house “Grai” “Seraphim” Fall 2009 line has three basic colours: grey, black and silver combined in knit tops,jersey satin bottoms and leather jackets-all very tasteful put together.
“Society For Rational Dress” is a line of creme chiffon and crocket dresses,rayon tops with leather details and black tie dresses.
The chain shoes and chain capes are eye catching details on the runway.

New York designer Raquel Allegra started his unic line by using distressed T-shirts from LA County Jail.
His line is a playful collection of shredded layered T-shirts,tanks and tunics with unfinished
borders as details.
The material is lightweight cotton and the colors are earthy. Matching leggins goes to every outfit of the collection.
