Susan Cowsill Band Performs Beatles' "Revolver" in Austin

Austin, Texas (RPRN) 6/1/2009- - Covered in Vinyl is a concept show The Susan Cowsill Band is bringing to Austin. This time they'll perform The Beatles album Revolver. Besides an uncanny knack for getting to the heart and soul of songwriting, Cowsill's voice has been praised for her throaty, seasoned vocals. Susan Cowsill's voice is an "impressive instrument, hitting the notes-between-the-notes, the subtle tones that are so emotionally complex." says The Washington Post. Susan Cowsill made her initial mark on popular culture at the tender age of eight with The Cowsills, the 60s family pop group that not only scored Top Ten singles "The Rain the Park and Other Things", "Hair" and "We Can Fly" but also served as the real-life inspiration for TV's fictional Partridge Family.

During Susan's decade with New Orleans' roots-pop super-group The Continental Drifters she won the hearts of discerning listeners with her impassioned vocals and personally-charged songwriting, gracing three widely-acclaimed albums and a decade's worth of riveting performances.

OffBeat Magazine named Susan Cowsill "Best Female Vocalist" and the Susan Cowsill Band "Best Roots/Rock/Country Band" in January 2008. Wet Bank Guide named Susan's Katrina song, "Crescent City Snow" "...arguably the best of the lot. It is the anthem we have all been waiting for."  Susan Cowsill's solo album Just Believe It won critical praise from titans of the music industry.

Russ Broussard was born 1965 in Louisiana and started drumming at the age of two. According to family lore, young Russ was so mesmerized by National Geographic photos of the Ituri drummers in Central Africa that he would cry himself to sleep because he was not a part of the drum ceremony.

Russ' dreams held firm and he graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts in classical percussion, which led to the beginning of his professional career at the age of fifteen. Russ can adapt his drumming skills to any style and has played with artists as diverse as Paul Simon, Robert Palmer, Kim Wilson, James Cotton, Terrance Simien, Bluerunners, the Continental Drifters, and the Bay City Rollers.
