Jermaine Jackson, MJ died at 2:27, not at 1:07as earlier reported. The cause of death remains unknown.
Michael Jackson dead at the age of 50, cause of death still unconfirmed
LOS ANGELES (RPRN) 6/25/2009--Reports are surfacing that Michael Jackson died this afternoon at 1:07 pm pacific time, at the UCLA Medical Center at the age 50. At the moment, the cause of death remains unconfirmed, although reports are claiming cardiac arrest.
According to the L.A Times, Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda said Jackson was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home. CPR was performed before being rushed to the hospital.
As the King of Pop, Jackson's impact on the music industry is immeasurable. Moreover, from the Jackson 5 to his solo career that spanned three decades, he forever changed popular culture. Countless performers such as Paula Adbul and more recently Usher name Jackson as their main source of inspiration, owing him their careers.
Jackson was scheduled to start his summer tour on July 13 in London.
On stage since an early age, assuming the role of lead vocalist at just eight, Jackson never had the liberty of a childhood. Furthermore, as he was so open about over the years, he suffered terrible physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father, Joe Jackson.
Just weeks shy of his 51st birthday, he always seemed to be yearning to regain his lost childhood. His wish for eternal youth has been fulfilled.
He leaves behind three children.
