Award-Winning Graphic Designer Alex Lin Launches Studio Lin

NEW YORK (RPRN) 8/3/2009- Celebrated graphic designer Alex Lin opens the doors to Studio Lin, founded on 3 principles: Collaboration is king. Clarity is paramount. All things are considered.

The studio’s work process is founded on a desire to explore new territory through challenging collaborations with creative visionaries in the fields of architecture, culture, art and fashion. By combining the studio’s analytical rigor with strong input from external forces, the resulting design is exponentially enhanced: 1 + 1 = 3.

This formula also permits a fluid aesthetic to prevail. Behind every Studio Lin design is a highly defined rationale but not a singular style. The common denominator is a fresh, modern sensibility that eschews the overtly trendy in favor of lasting impact.

Studio Lin’s focus is on comprehensive design systems in all media, including web, social media, advertising, publishing, video and environmental. A lean office able to offer highly competitive rates, the studio can tap into a carefully curated network of highly skilled designers, printers, programmers, animators and writers.
Clients receive the thorough and undivided attention of Alex Lin, who directs every project from conception through execution, overseeing any additional services as needed.

On August 3rd, Studio Lin unveils www.StudioLin.org showcasing work from the past 3 years. The site will feature free downloads and commenting on all projects to encourage feedback.

About Alex Lin:

Before opening Studio Lin in 2009, Alex Lin laid the foundation for his own design practice by collaborating with some of the field’s greatest minds. After receiving an MFA in graphic design (and the Alexey Brodovitch Prize) from Yale University, Alex spent five years at the design firm 2x4 and three years as a partner at Default LLC.

During this time, Alex collaborated on projects in every medium with designers and clients including Johnson & Johnson, Google, Stephen Burks, Rem Koolhaas/OMA, Grimshaw Architects, SANAA, Tina Manis, Citigroup Art Advisory Service, Domus, Artecnica, Vitra, MoMA and The Guggenheim Museum. His work has been featured in leading design publications (Wallpaper, ID Magazine, Metropolis, Azure, Tank, Architectural Record, Span, IDEA, Victionary), exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and in 2005, his Mies Face artwork became a part of MoMA’s permanent design collection.
