CHINO HILLS, CA (RPRN) 8/12/2009-- Petropics attended the Hawaii Pet Expo sponsored by the Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association (HVMA) to celebrate Be Kind to Animals Week and National Pet Week. This public expo invites the locals annually to bring their dogs, cats, (and hairless rats) to come and meet their favorite manufacturer’s and check out what’s new and coming to the Islands.
“I learned what it means to be the beneficiary of what the Islanders call “Aloha Spirit” with their incredible reception and genuinely kind spirit,” said Hackett. “The people of Hawaii have captured my heart, and outshine even the beauty of the Island landscape. What a joy it was to share our products with people that love and respect their pets and take the time to learn about who you are and what you have worked so hard to present to them.”
Our Branding was an obvious curiosity. The looks of surprise, delight, connection, and identification these customers had with our brands and the island names that represent a place they were born, live, or is even sacred to them was amazing. Growing up in San Diego, we experienced a very similar South Pacific culture and influence and Aloha spirit that is a near reflection of the Islands across the ocean. To celebrate our respect and admiration for the people of the South Pacific Islands who have inspired us is a great privilege we have taken very seriously. A great deal of thought has gone into the development of our recipes, brands, art, colors, textures, and mood to ensure it agrees with the cultural and demographic representations we were portraying. Our Tiki Dog Kauai Luau represents the famous lush garden greens the Island is famous for and Tiki Cat Waimea Luau, named after their Sacred territory of Waikiki, is a rich Marine Blue-Green that reflects the amazing colors of the water and garden landscapes there. Most of all, the colors of the rainbow are brought together to represent Hawaii’s Aloha symbol.
When it comes to our booth, we were dishing up food to dogs all day long. Live demonstrations are the KEY to our Tiki Dog success. In the can, our product is simply compared to other canned foods, aside from the beautiful packaging. Once the can is opened and displayed for the customer to see, smell, taste, and serve a bite to their dog, we have just translated a customer to a Tiki Dog customer for life! Dogs that “don’t like wet food”, “Won’t eat anything”, “Pickiest ever”, sampled away and begged for more, walking customers away with a case of Tiki Dog. When the customer’s themselves taste Tiki Dog food, the sales team is tasting Tiki Dog food, and the dogs scarf down Tiki Dog food-we know the product is going to be a great success for everyone. Mahalo, Hawaii! We hope to see you again. For further information, please contact Christine Hackett at Petropics, LLC or visit www.petropics.com.
