HOLLYWOOD (RPRN/Hollywood Today) 8/19/2009--Miley Cyrus didn’t want a Hannah Montana movie at first. “It is true,” says Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus. “At first, I was a little concerned because I wanted to know how the show would work in a movie format. We wanted to make a movie that was more realistic than the show, along with some comedy and romance.”
In Hannah Montana the Movie, Miley’s double life is catching up with her. To her friends she’s an ordinary girl in high school. Her secret identity as pop star Hannah Montana seems to be taking over. Miley’s dad, played by Miley’s real life dad Billy Ray Cyrus, takes matters into his own hands. He takes her home to Tennessee for a dose of reality. What Miley meets there is her first real boyfriend. How will he react to her secret Hollywood life?
“The story shows how you need to be able to take the time to realize who you are and where you’ve come from,” says Cyrus. “I know I have to do that in my life sometimes. It feels great to come home to Nashville and be comfortable with who I am. Where you’re from reflects a lot of who you are and who you’ll become as you get older. Like what happens in the movie, you have to take it back down to the real world.”
“Miley is growing up in the movie”, says Cyrus. “She’s going through hard times and she’s trying to find herself - and I think that’s a beautiful part of the movie. It’s cool to see her change.”
“When audiences walk away from the movie, I hope they feel like they’ve been to my home,” say Cyrus. “I hope they feel like they understand Nashville because Nashville is my everything. Nashville is who I am.”
“It’s pretty much art imitating life imitating art,” says Hannah Montana star Billy Ray Cyrus. “We never planned it, but once it happened, Miley and I worked hard to make it and keep it real.”
“We’ve tried to keep the movie pretty separate from the television show,” says Cyrus. “I don’t think we’ll bring any of the new characters from the movie into the show really. I think it would be better to keep them apart.” The Hannah Montana series on Disney has started their third season and planning for a fourth.
“All of the new songs really suit the movie,” says Cyrus. “In fact, I think they’re some of the best songs I’ve ever recorded. The music really lifts the film and I love them to bits.”
“I really like The Climb because it’s about becoming a better person,” says Cyrus. That’s what Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana are both working towards in the movie, so it has a special place in my heart.”
Hannah Montana the Movie is an enjoyable fun movie for the Tween and younger set. Miley sings, dances and performs thirteen songs and musical numbers, many as
Hannah Montana, some as Miley. Music is a big part of this movie with many memorable songs. This movie shows Miley and her alter ego Hannah growing up and learning what’s important in life. The TV show has more comedy. The charm of Miley Cyrus is her ability to be funny.
