Startup Camp Montreal5, an event dedicated to everything startup, announces its open call for early-stage companies to present at its fifth edition. Startup Camp Montreal allows an opportunity for all early stage companies, investors, media, and on-lookers alike to share information, network and form strategic alliances.

Five selected entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to validate their pitches live, testing their presentations in front of a captive audience and receiving real-time feedback.

Join the fifth edition of Startup Camp Montreal and learn from others the ins and outs of pitching a startup in the most efficient way. Develop a strong elevator pitch that will not only attract investors, but also new clients and strategic alliances. 

Embrase, the Montreal-based consulting firm specializing in early-stage technology-based startups, organizes Startup Camp Montreal. “We created this event to fill a gap in the minds of local entrepreneurs,” says Philippe Telio of Embrase. “Startups need experience testing their elevator pitch in a realistic and live environment if they are to be successful in either making sales or raising investment capital. Startup Camp is a low-risk and friendly environment where companies learn the art of pitching their ideas.”

Deadline for submissions: October 1st, 2009 for a chance to present on stage.
 
Format of the event:
Five selected startups will be given five minutes to pitch their business, followed by a five-to-ten minute Q&A period in which they will receive valuable feedback from experts in an open forum format.

Investisment Quebec recently announced the creation of three funds targeting startup companies, which will total $125M. Startup Camp Montreal is an opportunity to be seen by the investment community, which will be tasked with managing these funds.

 
Details:
Event will be held on October 15th, 2009 from 6-11pm with an un-conference portion beginning at 3pm.  The event will be held at the SAT - Société des arts technologiques (1195 Saint-Laurent boulevard, Montreal)
