MONTREAL (RPRN) 10/13/09 — Five Canadian Startups Pitch October 15 at the Fifth Edition of Startup Camp Montreal
Startup Camp Montreal5, an event dedicated to everything startup, is thrilled to announce Chris Shipley of the DEMO Conferences and Lori Collins formerly of the LendingTree Exchange as the Fall session’s keynote speakers.
Chris Shipley, widely considered as one of the most influential people in the technology world today, is a writer, analyst, and strategist for technology companies and products. As Executive Producer of the DEMO Conferences, the premier technology event, Chris has been instrumental in bringing more than 1,500 new products to market. Today, she focuses exclusively on identifying market opportunities, helping to bring some of the most promising companies and products to market.
Lori Collins, formerly the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the LendingTree Exchange, is currently an Advisor with SmartHippo. As a member of the original executive team behind LendingTree, Lori was influential in bringing the company from $31 million in profits to $224 million in just over seven years, growing the company from IPO through to acquisition, and finally to expansion to the direct lending business.
The fifth edition, on October 15 2009, will see the pitches of five leading Canadian startups, including:
Startup Camp Montreal allows an opportunity for all early stage companies, investors, media, and on-lookers alike to share information, network and form strategic alliances. These five selected entrepreneurs will validate their pitches live, testing their presentations in front of a captive audience and receiving real-time feedback.

Five selected startups are given five minutes to pitch their business, followed by a five-to-ten minute Q&A.
