Amsterdam, Netherlands (RPRN) 03/25/10 — – Amsterdam engineer René Cortin is pleased to introduce a unique design in cufflinks that takes fashion accessories to a whole new level.

The product, which is internationally-patented, offers unparalleled innovation in cufflinks. Cortin’s patent encompasses three components: a cufflink, a rigid or flexible element (such as a chain or string) and a sleeve button. These components are ingeniously blended together to create a sleeve fastener that is novel, elegant and practical to wear. “The front part of the cufflink shuts the cuff of the shirt,” Cortin explained. “The rear part shuts the sleeve (actually it supersedes the common button between the elbow and the cuff), and the front part is linked to the rear part by either a flexible or a rigid element.”

Cufflinks have been around for years, but their basic shape and utility have undergone very few changes. The design of cufflinks varies widely, with the simplest type consisting of a short post or chain connecting two disc-shaped parts.
