Automated Planning Gives Early Warning About Project Crisis

London, England (RPRN) 06/24/10 — Planning software from The Plan Is highlights where there isn't enough time to get things done, helping project managers address issues earlier.

The Plan Is today announced the launch of web-based software that gives early warnings about schedule issues that may derail projects.

With as much as 36% of the blame for IT project overspending attributed to misunderstood dependencies*, The Plan Is wanted to ensure that project managers had a good way to analyse, model and share information about the dependencies that impacted their project.

Based on software that The Plan Is developed for it's own projects, their software-as-a-service application automatically analyses existing commitments and relationships to highlight places where there is not enough time to get everything done.

“Plans are useless if they aren't realistic,” said Richard Revis, founder of The Plan Is. “Project managers often have to negotiate to ensure that a realistic plan is possible, and we wanted to make it easy to walk someone else through the issue and show them a credible story about what needs to be done to make the project a success.”
