VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA (RPRN) 10/24/10 — Fraser Institute to Release New Study Measuring and Comparing 10 Provincial Premiers on Their Management of Provincial Finances
A new study measuring the performance of 10 provincial premiers on key aspects of fiscal policy will be released Monday, October 25 by the Fraser Institute, Canada's leading public policy think-tank. The study, Measuring the Fiscal Performance of Canada's Premiers, gives each premier an overall score and rank based on how they performed on three fiscal components: government spending, taxes, and debt and deficits.
"This study gives Canadians an objective, empirical assessment of how the premiers have managed their province's public finances and economic policies compared to other provincial premiers," said Niels Veldhuis, Fraser Institute senior economist. A news release with additional information about the study will be issued via Marketwire on Monday, October 25 at 6:30 a.m. Eastern.
