'The Steps' Wins BANFF International Pilots Competition

Los Angeles, CA (RPRN) 06/19/12 — Contemporary Noir Thriller Named Best Drama at Prestigious International Media Event

Who:  The Steps is created by and stars actor Dylan Kussman - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0476378/ - whose credits include Dead Poets Society, upcoming Tom Cruise starrer Jack Reacher, upcoming Denzel Washington starrer Flight. 

What: Multi-Platform series The Steps follows alcoholic Los Angeles private investigator Charlie Madison, who escapes tinseltown to Chattanooga, TN to avoid prosecution for some shady spying he’d done in California.  When he gets into hot water in Chattanooga, too, the troubled P.I. has to return to L.A. with a 24-hour window to locate a buried thumbdrive that could free him from his legal troubles in both cities.  But Charlie can’t get the drive without digging up his haunted past.

In the vein of AMC’s The Killing and Breaking Bad, The Steps presents a compelling ensemble cast of characters in a down-the-rabbit-hole story world.  Breathtaking cinematography and sophisticated noir styling sets The Steps apart from other independently produced pilots.

 The Steps was awarded the International Pilots Competition Best Drama Award Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel During the 33^rd annual conference in Alberta.  The award was accepted by creator Kussman and executive producer Adam Paul.
