À l’aide de votre téléphone portable ou de votre ordinateur, vous serez en mesure d’écouter la traduction simultanée en français des conférenciers. Il suffit de se rendre à http://startupfest.babelverse.com/, puis de se connecter sur Skype ou alors composer un numéro de téléphone Canadien local grâce à Tropo, un programme d’infrastructure vocal qui est le commanditaire officiel de ce service. Cet outil est supporté par les iPhone/iPad, les téléphones et tablettes opérant sur Android ou Blackberry, ainsi que les laptops sous Mac, Windows ou Linux.

Le co-fondateur de Babelverse Mayel de Borniol, lui-même francophone, n’est pas étranger au problème : « Ceux pour qui l’anglais n’est pas la langue première sont malheureusement souvent désavantagés dans notre industrie rapide et mondialement connectée. Nous sommes donc ravis de travailler avec le Festival International de Startup pour rendre l’événement facilement accessible pour le plus de gens possible.»

En tant que génial nouvelle startup européenne, Babelverse est la première plateforme alimentée par une communauté d’interprètes humains pour la traduction en temps réel de dialogue.
