Sundance Vacations Supports the 2012 Salvation Army Angel Tree

Wilkes-Barre, PA (RPRN) 12/14/12 — Sundance Vacations, a national travel company specializing in discount vacation accommodations, is proud to support the 2012 Salvation Army Angel Tree, providing the magic of Christmas for countless underprivileged children.   

Forty one Sundance employees from the corporate office in Wilkes-Barre sponsored Christmas Angels this year, helping to ease family budgets that are too tight to allow for extras during the holidays.  Some of the gifts that were purchased include bikes, Barbie Dream Houses, a Kindle Fire, Thomas the Train, Wii games, and clothing.

Salvation Army Angel Tree gift recipients are individually screened to verify need and then wish lists are provided, allowing adopters the gratification of personalized shopping, and recipients the excitement of having their dreams fulfilled. 

John & Tina Dowd, founders of Sundance Vacations, have created a company culture that encourages living out the core values of the company, one of which is “Respond to Charity.” Philanthropy is encouraged and rewarded because the Dowds recognize the importance of reinvesting in the community.  John Dowd, President, said, “The Salvation Army Angel Tree makes a difference in the lives of so many children in need.  We are thrilled to participate in such a worthy cause.”  

Kelly Valovich, Sundance Vacations’ Charity Coordinator, who organizes the Angel program at Sundance every year said, “This is the fourth year that we have been helping the Salvation Army with Christmas Angels.  I love that fact that I know we are helping so many families bring smiles to their children’s faces.  Christmas is a time of magic and hope, and every child should have a gift from Santa!”

Sundance Vacations also made a donation to the Salvation Army from its Charity budget.  The kindness and generosity of Sundance’s owners and employees is benevolent.
