London,UK (RPRN) 06/16/13 — Ernst & Young (EY) has today been named as one of the UK’s leading employers in the Great Place to Work Best Workplaces 2013 listing. The professional services firm was ranked in the top 25 of the large company category, for the third year running, based on the results of employee surveys and management questionnaires. The Great Place to Work institute is a global organisation which benchmarks leading organisations across 46 countries.
Companies were judged against a rigorous criterion and had to demonstrate that they have developed a culture of trust with their employees and championed excellence in their people management practices. Liz Bingham, Ernst & Young’s Managing Partner for Partner in the UK & Ireland comments: “To be recognised as one of the UK’s top employers for the third year in a row is fantastic achievement and testament the work we are doing towards building a diverse and inclusive culture where all our people have the ability to reach their potential.” Steve Varley, Ernst & Young’s UK & Ireland Managing Partner added: “We are passionate about the business case for diversity. Our leading position on diversity has undoubtedly supported our strong performance over recent years. It gives us access to a wide talent pool and helps us represent our client base. Diverse teams fundamentally make better business decisions and therefore do better business. “
That’s why EY chose to go public and publish the diversity of our UK people population, when we signed up last year to Theresa May’s Think, Act, report. And it is why we chose to announce aspirational targets for both female and black minority ethnic partner admissions.”
