–Maison Sante is just one part of Ste. Anne’s multi-dimensional focus on fitness and wellness. It is located in the heart of the spa village and houses a wide range of equipment familiar to exercise buffs, including treadmills, elliptical machines, weights, rowing machines and a recumbent bike. Instructions are posted for the benefit of less-experienced guests. For those who enjoy entertainment while exercising, there is a large-screen television.
Open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily, Maison Santé also features an outdoor endless pool for swimming against smooth currents. It can be used as an underwater treadmill as well, and is heated for year-round use. For post-workout relaxation, guests may take advantage of the onsite hot tub and dry sauna.
A member of Ste. Anne’s team of Registered Massage Therapists can be booked as a circuit training coach, either one-on-one or for a small group. The program begins with a light run to Maison Santé and is followed by an individualized session to help meet personal goals.
During the warmer months, there are outdoor tennis courts and an Olympic-sized heated swimming pool, filled with Ste. Anne’s spring water. Guests may choose to reserve one of several gazebos for spa treatments while listening to the sounds of nature. (There is even one for couples.) Golfers can apply their wellness allowance at the nearby Shelter Valley Pines Golf Course, rated as one of the province’s finest mid-length golf greens.
Available year round at the main inn, the Fieldstone Grotto features a hot tub, a cooling plunge pool, as well as a relaxing current pool. A few steps away is a soothing eucalyptus steam room.
Guests need not be experienced with horses to take part in the Equine Program at Ste. Anne’s onsite farm, one of many wellness activities to choose from. For those who prefer the indoors, there is yoga instruction (at all levels), a morning stretch or meditation.
The many kilometres of country roads surrounding Ste. Anne’s and the beautiful walking trails behind the main inn are an excellent way to explore the area. When weather permits, back trails are groomed for snowshoers.
For the past eight years, Ste. Anne’s has been voted “Canada’s Favourite Spa”. Located on more than 400 acres of scenic, rolling countryside, it offers guests more than 35 rejuvenating spa services, uniquely appointed accommodations, first-class amenities and, of course, delicious cuisine.
