TORONTO-ON (RUSHPRNEWS) July 16, 2008 – Mississauga supermodel Daria Werbowy will be getting a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame this September. Her rise to stardom started modestly in Mississauga as a Ukrainian-born immigrant, when in high school, Susan J. Burych from Susan J Model & Talent Management discovered her.  Susan J. states” When I first saw Daria, I immediately recognized the great potential in her, even though at the time, she was just an awkward teenage girl”, she added, “her eyes with this incredible hue of blue and her stature made her stand out and I knew that with the proper grooming and development, she could be a star in her own rights.  And look at her now”.

Daria, who started modeling at the age of 14 under Susan J’s guidance, has since appeared in ads and on runways for such fashion houses as Hermes, Valentino, Missoni and Versace.  Last year, Forbes magazine listed Werbowy as the ninth-highest paid model in the world, earning $3.5 million.  A true Canadian success story, Daria now 24, no longer resides in Mississauga but has stated that she would like to retire from the modeling world at age 25 and move back to her native town to open an art gallery. With her present success, her dream is within reach, a proof that good management from the start is the step to take to successfully strut on the catwalk.

While Daria is pursuing her dreams, Susan J. Talent agency has expanded into Los Angeles, where her roster of clients includes soap opera star Antony Pena from the Young & Restless; rising star Christopher Divechio, who recently landed a lead role in the upcoming feature film “Dark Moon Rising” to be released in 2009; Dennis Hayden, who will be seen in the Walt Disney film ‘Race to Witch Mountain” to be released March 2009 and Erik Estrada from the television series “Chips” and various other TV projects. Susan J. Talent Agency also represents screen writers, directors and producers.

Recently, Susan J. announced the signing of Dave Shelton  an accomplished film and television, writer/director/producer, also a cartoonist, and actor.  Dave brings a long and distinguished career in the entertainment industry, with credits including National Lampoon, Everybody Loves Raymond (as the creator of the popular Hackidu characters), Nickelodeon/MTV, Against Type (starring the new Terminator Roland Kickinger) and the upcoming animated series Alien House, as the voice for one of the leads.  Dave will be producing several new high profile films and television shows in the next year.  Susan J.  represents Dave for all U.S. and Canadian projects.

Susan J. also signed on Saige Ryan Campbell as a new acting client.  At just 12, Saige is one of Hollywood’s most seasoned child stars with credits in leading and supporting roles in films and on television shows including I Heart Huckabees, Warner Bros.’ Believers (for which she received a Young Artist Award nomination as best young lead), Passions, Entourage, Without a Trace, Still Standing and Nip/Tuck.  Saige is also teaming up with Dave Shelton on several of his upcoming projects and has just been named international spokesperson for Penny Brite dolls which launches autumn, 2008.  Susan J. Talent will represent Saige for all Canadian projects.

Susan J’s Canadian actors have appeared recently in various films and TV projects such as Nikky Catney and Gigi Dalka both from Toronto and 25, seen in Mike Myers and Jessica Alba’s film, “The Love Guru”.

Susan J’s keen eye for new talent and expert hand in grooming and guidance have turned her into one of the talent industry leading agent and are sure to produce more success stories, she stated, “there is nothing more rewarding for someone in my industry to take a raw talent, mold it, feature it and then see that talent become a star”.
