A Summer Camp That Gives Back Sending your child to summer camp is one thing. But doing so while helping improve the lives of children locally and abroad is another.
Toronto, ON (rushprnews) June 16, 2007 – Fundamentalz Summer Sports Camp makes giving back a priority, aiming to change the lives of young people around the world while enriching the lives of children locally.
For every camper that joins their 2007 summer camp, Fundamentalz will donate a portion to the Ronald McDonald House, a charity that provides accommodation for families of out-of-town children who are hospitalized with a serious illness. In addition, 10 percent of all campers’ fees will be donated to Fundamentalz’ charitable initiative Project P.L.A.Y. (Participating in the Lives of All Youth), which is building the first village community centre in Ghana, Africa.
Giving to charities isn’t the only thing that sets Fundamentalz Summer Sports Camp apart from the rest. The organization believes in mentoring young people through recreation and education. Their focus is to provide a stimulating, challenging and inspiring environment that mentors students, building self-confidence and leadership skills while educating them both artistically and athletically. “We use skill development in sports to teach the kids teamwork, leadership, social and interpersonal skills,†says co-founder Adrian Jordan. “We recognize the importance of having fun while we encourage children to feel good about themselves.â€
Fundamentalz has been operating its in-school educational and recreational programs (including basketball, soccer, dance, languages and arts and crafts) since 2002. The organization, co-founded by Program Directors Roland Acheampong and Adrian Jordan, has over 40 years of combined experience in coaching and mentoring young people.
Fundamentalz is pleased to present the 2007 Fundamentalz Summer Sports Camp, which runs from July 9th to July 27th (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) at York Mills Collegiate High School in Toronto.
