Los Angeles(RushPRNews)12/02/08-The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) is set to honor music producer Jermaine Dupri in Southern California next week. According to reports, Dupri will be honored with the Bill of Right Award alongside Earvin “Magic” Johnson.
Both pop culture icons are being honored because of their philanthropic and community service related efforts.
Dupri, who serves on the board of directors for The Hip Hop Summit Action Summit, has helped out in the efforts to repeal Rockefeller Drug Laws and numerous voter registration programs.
Other big names, including Rosa Parks, Barbara Streisand, Martin Scorsese, and Antonio “L.A.” Reid, have also been honored by the ACLU.
Dupri and Reid will be bestowed with the honors at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on December 8, 2008.
