ANTHEM DIGITAL APPOINTS MICHAEL JAY SOLOMON CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
LOS ANGELES(RUSHPRNEWS)10/02/2008 – Anthem Digital, the parent company of Anthem Pictures, announced today that it has named entertainment pioneer Michael Jay Solomon as Chairman of its board of directors, effective immediately.
A leading innovator and entrepreneur in the field of entertainment, Solomon brings a wealth of experience in forging new businesses and creating new platforms. In 1978, after eight years with United Artists and fourteen years with MCA, he co-founded Telepictures Corporation, which went on to become the largest U.S. television syndication company (they created TV syndication) and one of the largest international television distribution companies, as well as the owner and operator of six television stations in the U.S. Telepictures became a public company (NASDAQ) after only 14 months under the leadership of Solomon as Chairman and CEO.
When Telepictures merged with Lorimar to form Lorimar Telepictures Corp. (American Stock Exchange), Solomon became the new company’s President and served on its Board of Directors. Solomon, with his partners, led Lorimar Telepictures to become the largest television production and distribution company in the world, producing TV series such as Dallas, Falcon Crest, Knot’s Landing and many more. Currently Solomon oversees several global technology companies including Dreamstream, a innovative programming company that specializes in secure encryption technology, and Royal Digital Media, a High-Definition hardware development and manufacturing company which products rival that of Sony’s current Blue-Ray products. Â
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Michael to the Board of Directors and to the Chairman position,†said Charles Adelman, President and CEO of Anthem Digital. “His new role as chairman signifies the full commitment to the work we’ve begun and a firm belief that Anthem is breaking new ground in paving the way in revolutionizing new media technology and global distribution.”
“Anthem Digital is a highly respected company with an extremely attractive business model and   potentially solid positions in growing markets,†said Solomon. “I look forward to working with Anthem’s management team to capitalize on the company’s growth opportunities and to enhance the profile and the value of the company, while ensuring the strongest possible emphasis on executing this company’s revolutionary vision.â€
Along with Anthem’s current film production and distribution model, Anthem will be expanding its video game development and publishing division to facilitate mass marketing and MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) gaming. Anthem will also be creating a unified joint-venture with both Dreamstream and RDM to create a truly global digital media studio.
