LOS ANGELES (RushPRnews) 01/05/09- Fans around the world sent out their heartfelt condolences and support to John Travolta and Kelly Preston at the announcement of the death of their son Jett, 16, last Friday. Jett passed away while vacationing in the Bahamas with his family. An autopsy is to take place today, January 5, in order to determine the exact cause of death.
According to reports, two clinical and forensic pathologists will be performing the autopsy in the Bahamas. The funeral will take place in Ocala, Florida. The Travoltas said in a statement released on their website, ” Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered.†The “Saturday Night Fever” and “Pulp Fiction” star’s family attorney and spokesperson told reporters, “John is distraught. He is trying to understand and reconcile this.”
Jett was discovered on Friday unconscious on the bathroom floor where he apparently suffered a seizure and hit his head against the bathtub. He was taken to a Freeport hospital where he died shortly after his arrival.
It is also widely rumored but denied by his parents that Jett suffered from autism. Rumors about Jett Travolta’s disability have been floating around for years, but Scientology, which the Travoltas are active members for decades does not recognize the disability. The Travoltas have long blamed their son’s disability on Kawasaki Syndrome-related “environmental toxins,” specifically carpet cleaning chemicals. Complications of Kawasaki Syndrome include coronary artery dilation, aneurysms and seizure. It is a leading cause of acquired heart disease in the United States.
