Deborah Smith Ford Famous Lookalike Nominated at The Reel Awards
The Reel Awardsâ„¢ celebrates its 16th year Sunday, May 27, 2007 at The Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Las Vegas, Nevada (rushprnews) May 21, 2007 – The Reel Awardsâ„¢ celebrates its 16th year Sunday, May 27, 2007 at The Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. This annual spectacle brings together the best celebrity impersonators from around the world such as Deborah Smith Ford known for a kick-ass impersonation of Trinity and Sabrina from “Charlie’s Angelsâ€, Mary Katherine Gallagher from “Saturday Night Liveâ€, Lilith from “Cheersâ€, Audrey Hepburn and the Witch Jadis from the “The Chronicles of Narniaâ€.
Deborah started doing impersonations in 2003 after repeat requests for an autograph from the public mistaking her for Carrie-Anne Moss, who played the character Trinity in the Matrix series.
Her roster of characters also includes Sabrina from “Charlie’s Angelsâ€, Mary Katherine Gallagher from “Saturday Night Liveâ€, Lilith from “Cheersâ€, Audrey Hepburn and the Witch Jadis from the “The Chronicles of Narniaâ€. Ford is also known as Farmer Deb in the very successful national Citracal osteoporosis campaign, which earned her multiple 2007 REEL Award nominations.
Preparation for impersonation is an in-depth process that requires not only a great amount of talent but also commitment, Deborah describes the process as such, “First I make the decision to be that character, to study her, develop a wardrobe suited for the character and once I have a suitable outfit, then do photosâ€.
When asked how she started in this line of work, Deborah added, “With Trinity, people kept asking me for my autograph and since I am an actress, it was a logical step. The second character was Kate Jackson, Sabrina in Charlie’s Angels which for many years people had commented on the resemblance but I did not do anything about it, that is until the success portraying Trinityâ€.
2007 already looks to be her busiest year ever. Ford has been signed on for three movie productions including the film adaptation of A.B. Keller’s,†Vortex of Revelationâ€, being shot in Ohio, California and Rome, Italy.
Ford was recently elected president of Southwest Florida’s United Film and Television Artists, an organization that brings together diverse members of the entertainment industry to further their career goals.
