London, UK (RPRN) 05/05/09 — ExtraFootie, the European social network destination for football supporters, is due to launch the biggest edition of its site to date with its UK launch, but is offering a limited number of exclusive invitations for beta testers in advance that will allow users to get a sneak preview of the site and report any likes, or indeed, dislikes.
ExtraFootie will offer a range of social networking features, including news, forums, competition stats, a community fan shop and customisable personal profiles for each user. As well as this, users will be able to view club homepages and supporter group pages, designed for users to consume and interact with fellow football fans.
The UK launch follows the success of the Belgian and Dutch versions of the site, which launched in October 2008.
The site will offer a blend of editorially-led and user generated content which covers both amateur and professional levels of the various football leagues in the UK. Users will be able to view and share content with their friends through the websites integrated social community.
ExtraFootie will also present a range of applications for users to interact with, including a “Top 11 Football Team†which allows people to add their favourite, as well as their least favourite, starting eleven in the history of their club and nation to their profile.
The website will have an integrated Betting league, supported by Virtual Betting and Bwin, where users can place bets and, depending on the accuracy of the results, earn points to climb a league table with high profile prizes to be won at the end of each season.
To accompany the official launch ExtraFootie is running a competition of a lifetime where the winner will win a VIP trip to Milan to watch AC Milan play at the San Siro from the Presidents box, dine at the finest of restaurants, stay at a 5 star hotel and be chauffeured around in a limousine. Details of how to enter will soon be on the ExtraFootie site. The site is also running a tongue-in-cheek campaign to Keep Sven out of the Premiership.
Whilst the site is preparing to launch the Beta version of its UK website, www.extrafootie.co.uk/beta, other launches in European countries Spain, Germany and Romania are due in 2009.
