HOLLYWOOD, CA (rushprnews)July 22, 2007 — Lindsay Lohan turned herself to Beverly Hills Police Friday morning to face driving under the influence charges after crashing her Mercedes-Benz into a hedge on Memorial Day weekend.
Shortly after the May 26 accident, officers traced Lohan to a nearby hospital, but did not take her into custody. Since the accident, Lohan has spent 45 days at a Malibu rehab, her second such stint in a year. She left last week and now wears an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet on a voluntary basis.
The 21-year-old actress was fingerprinted, photographed, given an Aug. 24 hearing date and released.
Lohan sustained minor injuries when she crashed her Benz convertible on Sunset Boulevard. Police told AP that Lohan’s blood-alcohol level at the time of the accident was above California’s 0.08 legal limit but would not disclose how high. She may also face a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run, authorities said.
