ATLANTA, GAÂ (RUSHPRNEWS) 09/03/2008–With the release of his sixth solo album and appearances in two potentially blockbusting movies, Atlanta based rapper Ludacris will be ruling over the month of October with the swagger of an experienced vet. Luda’s entertainment takeover will kick off with the release of the video game inspired “Max Payne” in which he plays a cop. Co-starring Mark Wahlberg, the flick is said to hit theatres on October 17.
“This is the first time I’ve played any kind of police role,” Luda told Reuters. “It’s funny… in most movies, Mark plays the dominant role but my character is the dominant one over Mark. That was a power thing and I absolutely loved it.”
Luda’s “Theatre of the Mind” will follow the movie with a scheduled release date of October 21. The album features collaborations with T-Pain, The Game, T.I., and others.
The album’s first single, “What Them Girls Like” features Chris Brown and Sean Garrett.
“‘Theater of the Mind’ is all of my albums put together,” Luda said. “There’s the funny Ludacris, the serious Ludacris, and the story-telling Ludacris as well as the movie-making Ludacris.”
Luda will also make an appearance in the Guy Ritchie (Madonna’s husband) film RocknRolla, which opens October 31.
“I have a new album and two movies coming out within two weeks of each other, so Mr. October is my new nickname,” Luda quipped.
