NEW YORK (RushPRnews) 01/17/09– Following an acrimonious separation and very public battle of the words, Madonna and former husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie are doing their best to succeed where they have failed in the recent past, getting along for the sake of their children.
It is reported by the New York Daily News from a source close to the family that, “They’re working very hard to have an amicable divorce because (Madonna’s daughter) Lourdes came to them begging, “Please don’t be mean to each other’ Then she told them she wanted “everything to be as friendly as possible.â€
The former couple, who are raising three kids, Rocco, eight, their adopted son David, three, and Lourdes, Madonna’s 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, haven’t come to a format custodial agreement yet, but have settled their finances, leaving Madonna 92 million dollars poorer, with Guy keeping the couple’s country estate Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, as well as their west London pub, the Punchbowl, and Madonna retaining her Manhattan residence.
The Queen of Pop flew to England to her ex’s residence for the holiday, and the couple is reported to be willing to continue the truce in 2009. Guy Ritchie has been seen this past week coming in and out of Madonna’s New York apartment. There is no report of them getting back together. “When it comes down to it, they are both parents and they want to do what’s right for their children,†News of the World quoted a friend close to Guy as saying.
