BET Hip Hop Awards Announces Nominees

ATLANTA, GA (RUSHPRNEWS) 09/16/2008--Earlier today, the nominee’s for the third annual BET Hip Hop Awards were announced.With more than 13 weeks on Billboard’s top 10, Lil Wayne leads the list of nominee’s with 12 nominations including “Best Hip Hop Video” and “Best Live Performer.” Lil Wayne is followed by super producer/rapper, Kanye West with seven nominations and rap’s business man, Jay-Z with six.
 Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons will be receiving the “I Am Hip Hop” Icon Award, for his outstanding support and contributions to the Hip Hop community.

Nominee’s for “Best Hip Hop Video” award include David Banner, Common, DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West.

Nominee’s for “Best Lyricist Of The Year” include all top players in the rap game; Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Nas, T.I., and Kanye West.

Other BET Hip Hop Awards nominee’s include Busta Rhymes, Flo Rida, Dizzee Rascal, Hype Williams, DJ Greg Street, and more.

Hosted by comedian Katt Williams for the third time in a row, the third annual BET Hip Hop Awards will take place in Atlanta on October 18 and will air on BET October 23 at 8 p.m.
