NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS)AUGUST 18, 2008–P. Miller, formerly Master P, is setting out to change more than just his name these days. The self-made N.O. native has just announced his plans to launch a new TV channel called Better Black Television (BBTV).
P says he hopes to change the way messages are relayed to (and about) the black community by offering a variety of positive shows ranging from dramas, comedies, movies, animation, music, politics, and sports.
But P is not traveling this road by himself. Members of BBTV’s advisory board include Kool Herc, Will Smith, and Denzel Washington.
“I’ve done a lot to promote and change the way messages are relayed to our children and our families over the last few years,” P said in a statement. “Promoting positive content and positive messages is so important to educate and preserve the next generation.”
“Being exposed to positive content is what changed my life,” P continued. “I believe that there is a market in our community for a new diverse network that provides a new brand of superior programming that caters to all aspects of television from reality to original programming.”
According to reports, BBTV will be launched in 2009.
