NEW YORK (RUSHPRNEWS)July 26, 2008 –It looks like Lil Kim and Foxy Brown will be headed back to a courtroom near you as various sources are reporting that Simon & Schuster has filed suit against both felonious femcees.
The publishing giant filed suit in Manhattan yesterday (July 24) claiming that both rappers failed to deliver books they were paid to write. The suit also claims that they kept the advance money.
According to the New York Daily News, the suit further claims Kim was contracted to write her novel in November of 2003 and given a $40,000 advance.
After failing to make good on the arrangement, S & S voided the contract and demanded their money back in July 2004.
The court documents also allege that Fox signed a contract in 2005 to pen her autobiography, “Broken Silence.” She received a $75,000 advance and was supposed to return the bread by July 2006, says the suit.
Now S & S wants their money back from her too.
“Both manuscripts were long overdue,” said Simon & Schuster spokesman Adam Rothberg.
At press time, representatives for Kim and Fox did not return phone calls.
