A Number of Victims of the September 12th Chatsworth Wreck and 2005 Glendale Wreck, also Officials, Key Personnel, and Witnesses involved in the worst train wreck in California History to be in Attendance
LOS ANGELES, Calif(RUSHPRNEWS)09/28/2008- – A unique and comprehensive Town Hall /Press Conference will be held on Tuesday, September 30th, at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel located at 191 Cochran Street Simi Valley, CA 93065 at 1PM. Due to a heavy response, an additional Town Hall is being scheduled for 6:30PM. Law enforcement officials, railroad officials, railroad personnel, survivors, victims attorneys, victim’s families, and the media have been invited to participate. The location was chosen as courtesy for it’s proximity to ground zero and the resident communities of the victims.
National, state, regional, and local government legislators have been invited to join survivors from both the Chatsworth and Glendale Metrolink crashes. Also present will be the State Legislative Director for the BLE&T, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainman. Leading railroad litigation attorneys in the nation including Frederick L. Nelson and Anthony S.Petru of Hildebrand McLeod & Nelson LLP http://www.hmnlaw.com , will be joined by well known Glendale Metro Rail crash victim’s attorneys Ed Pfiester and Victor Russo. They will all be speaking on behalf of victims and their legal rights and options.
Many of you attended our press conference at the site of the Glendale crash in 2005 when months after the wreck, victim’s families and survivors held their first press interviews covered by all national and regional media outlets.
BREAKING NEWS: Newly discovered legal, technical and witness information will be presented to the media concerning the Chatsworth disaster at the Town Hall/Press Conference.
New information presented at the Town Hall meeting will also include real data on the Crash, including…Safety Issues in the railroad industry (Positive Train Control, Fatigue, Cab Staffing), legal and statutory roadblocks (govt. claim hurdles, Damage Caps – the $200M cap , and state and federal Pre-emption pitfalls) which will affect the victims rights, compensation, and related topics. Other topics will include Federal and California law, insurance levels and expectations, as well as a presentation called “Pedal to the Metal”, addressing accusations of the Metrolink culture of ignoring the safety of passengers. The latest legislation efforts of the past week and how it will affect victims and Californians exposed to railroad traffic will be presented and analyzed.
