HOLLYWOOD, CA (rushprnews) April 9th, 2007 – After 14-years of marriage, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown will be officially calling it quits on April 24. A judge also ruled Wednesday that Houston will have custody of their only daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
At the hearing, which lasted only 10 minutes, Houston said she needed no spousal or child support, but simply wanted custody of her child because Brown could not be depended on.
“He’s unavailable…. He doesn’t keep his word,†Houston said. She added, “If he says he’s going to come, sometimes he does, usually he doesn’t.†True to her words, Brown was not even present at the hearing, though his lawyer Ram Cogan claims he will try to overturn the judge’s decision.
Brown and Houston married in 1992 when Houston was at the height of her career, but have been plagued with bad press for alleged problems with drugs, money, and violence.  Houston filed for divorce in October of last year and then petitioned the court to fast track the divorce last February.
