Writer-Director Phil Robinson to Deliver -Keynote at Academy’s Nicholl Dinner

Beverly Hills, CA(RUSHPRNEWS) — Writer-director Phil Robinson will deliver the keynote address at the presentation dinner of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 22nd annual Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting on November 15, 2007, at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.

At the event, this year’s seven winning screenwriters – three individuals and two writing teams – will receive the first installment of the $30,000 in prize money awarded with each of five prestigious fellowships.
Robinson earned an Oscar® nomination in 1989 for the screenplay of “Field of Dreams,” which he also directed. Robinson also wrote and directed “In the Mood” (1987) and “Sneakers” (1992), and directed “The Sum of All Fears” (2002).
This year’s Nicholl Fellowship recipients are (listed alphabetically by author):

Michael L. Hare, Moorpark, California, “The Fly Fisher”
Sidney King, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, “Kalona”
David Mango, Japan and Syracuse, New York, “Kissing a Suicide Bomber”
Andrew Shearer and Nicholas J. Sherman, Los Angeles, California, “Holy Irresistible”
Since the program’s inception in 1985, 103 fellowships have been awarded.
