One Last Dance With Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze died today with his family by his side, following a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The star, whos rose to fame with his hot dance numbers in Dirty Dancing released in 1987 and stole our heart with Ghost, was 57. People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1991, Swayze often poke fun of his sexy image. A memorable SNL, Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley go head to head in a dance-off competition for an opening spot to be a Chippendales dancer.

He was diagnosed with the deadly form of cancer in January 2008 but continued work on the critically acclaimed TV series “The Beast”. During filming, he refused to take painkillers, worried that it would take the “edge” off the performance.  At the time of his death, Swayze was working on a memoir with his wife, a fellow dancer, Lisa Niemi, who he met in 1975. She was 15, he was 19.
