Young Montrealer Wants To Give Hugs For Charity
Jump On-Board the HugTrain!
By Arie Moyal
I’ll be travelling for charity around the USA by train starting in New York on December 27, 2009 and ending in Boston on January 10th , 2010.
I figured since I was taking this trip as a vacation that I could help others and add a social change aspect to it while keeping it fun.
I also thought that since the holidays can be tough on a lot of people, some holiday cheer could be just what the doctor ordered. And what better way to spread it than with hugs? I give good hugs. Ask my friends.
And that’s how I came up with the HugTrain!
Starting in New York on December 27th and ending in Boston on January 10th, the trip comprises eight train changes in fifteen days with stops in Albany, Chicago, Denver, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, El Paso, San Antonio, New Orleans, Atlanta Greenville and Washington D.C. The whole way I will be spreading holiday cheer and raising money and awareness about mental health one hug at a time!
All funds collected will be donated to Mental Health America. People are encouraged to donate directly to Mental Health America via the Donate link on their website.
