Fashion Label mini mini Makes Affordable Fashionable
Dressing for a night out can be tough, feeling beautiful can sometimes be fleeting. New Toronto-based women’s fashion label mini mini has set out to help women look and feel beautiful for any occasion. In April, Monika Gupta launched an online mini mini store at www.minimini.ca and has plans for retail space in the future. Every look is built from Monika’s mission to empower women through feminine and glamorous clothing. Fashion for Monika, is all about passion.
“Through my designs, I simply try to help reconnect a woman to what she already embodies but may not be using, which is her femininity. There is an aura of elegance and class to a woman that dresses well but also knows how to carry herself with grace. Just look back to the old eras at women such as Grace Kelly. There is an empowerment you feel oozing from such women. Women that know what it takes to look and feel good,” says Monika.
Growing up in Ottawa with a mother who studied fashion at Concordia and later taught sewing and garment constructing at home has its benefits. Monika quickly began making outfits for herself and her friends, realizing her passion was giving women empowerment and a feeling of true beauty through feminine clothing.
“As a teenager, I was a retailer’s dream. I loved dressing up and shopped all the time. I didn’t always find what I was looking for in a mall unless it had a high end designer price tag. I had my own ideas and always felt that I could do something different than what I was seeing in stores so I started designing my own creations and people started asking where I got the outfits,” says Monika of how she discovered her passion for designing.
From designing for herself and friends to designing for the public, Monika has always wanted to share her vision of femininity, confidence and beauty. Looking different and standing out in a crowd in a good way is something Monika wants every mini mini customer to experience.
From the feeling of the luxurious materials against your skin, to the feminine silhouettes complimenting your body and unique embellishments to add drama to your outfit, mini mini is all about true beauty and bringing quality together with affordability. Keeping mini mini affordable is very important to Monika, as she wants to bring her vision to all women.
Before designing for mini mini, she founded Kavi Kavi with her two sisters, which has a more edgy and tailored look. The line has garnered major attention and success, even appearing on Fashion Television with Jeanne Beker.
