Surface Technology – Automotive Seminar 21st September 2011
Surface Technology plc has recently announced their intention to run a series of sector specialist seminars. The first of these is an automotive themed seminar to be held at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon on the 21st September 2011. The half day seminar is titled Surface Technology – developments in the Automotive Industry and features presentations from four key representatives of the Automotive Sector.
Firstly, Dr Gary Critchlow is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Materials in Loughborough University, and the Chair of the Society for Adhesions and Adhesives (SAA). Gary received the “Corrosion Award” in 2003 from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and the Canning Medal from the Institute of Metal Finishing in 2010.
Following Dr Critchlow is Paul Mcluskey, the European Automotive Market Manager at Atotech UK Ltd. With 25 years’ experience in the Electroplating Industry, Paul has a specific focus on the electroplating demands for the Automotive OEM Industry, and will be speaking about Atotech’s approach to meeting these demands.
Steve Hubbard, Operations Director of Integrated Process Solutions will be talking about the development of in-house processes on global sites within the automotive sector, and finally Nicola Mander, a Fuels Engineer with Unipart Eberspacher (UEES) who has over 10 years’ experience working on fuel tank technology, will be sharing her experiences with us.
The idea behind the seminars is to bring together key players in the automotive sector to discuss developments of surface coatings within the industry, and how the move to greener technologies has altered some company’s approaches in the automotive sector. Nicola Mander will raise the debate on how advances in the coating of fuel filler pipes has helped benefit the Japanese market.
Sales and Marketing Director at Surface Technology, Andrew Courtney, has added:
“I am sure the day will be a great success, and we are very much looking forward to meeting all of our contemporaries from the industry, and showing them the advantages gained from the latest in surface technologies. We have some great insight, from some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry.”
