Dr. Ken Pool, co-founder of OZ Systems, a leading provider of public education and public health information systems and interoperable exchange, is slated to present at the Early Education and Technology for Children (EETC) conference on Wednesday, April 3rd. The theme of Dr. Pool’s remarks will be Leveraging Technology to Manage and Analyze Data for Improved Early Education Outcomes, which will discuss how to measure quality and explore a statewide implementation of an early childhood education data system.
“Critical decisions are being made every day in an effort to improve accessibility, resource allocation, curriculum, and technology tools for early education,” says Dr. Pool. “We understand that assuring quality is a challenge parents, educators and legislators all want to understand. The ability to collect and analyze data that measures program quality and ensures effectiveness goals are being met is key to making impactful, appropriate decisions.”
The solutions track session will take place:
- 2:30 – 3:30 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2013
Ballroom B
Hilton Salt Lake City Center
255 South West Temple, Salt Lake City
The session will highlight the importance of what data-driven early education analysis means for students, educators, administrators and policy officials, including:
- Simplifying and enhancing data collection and reporting
- Using new technologies to manage and analyze data to help educators make timely and evidence-based educational decisions for children
- Improving educational outcomes with actionable data and reports
The meeting comes closely on the heels of new federal initiatives focused on greater accessibility to “high quality” preK programs to support kindergarten readiness and continued success throughout a child’s academic life. To access federal funding, states are required to meet quality benchmarks linked to better educational outcomes for children, including having pathways to implementing educational data systems and having effective evaluation and program measurement tools. OZ Systems has partnered with educators in more than 20,000 preK and kindergarten classrooms to improve early childhood programs through the meaningful use of data.
