Arizona Film Students Get Schooled in HorrorThe Independent horror film, Speak No Evil premieres on May 24,2013 at 10:30pm at the Harkins Valley Art Theater at 509 South Mill Ave. in Tempe, Arizona. The film stars Gabrielle Stone, the daughter of the legendary Dee Wallace. (E.T., Cujo, The Lords of Salem)
According to film Director and Producer, Roze, the movie follows a young mother’s struggle to find her missing daughter. The daughter, played by newcomer Olivia Cavender, and all the children of a small town are taken and eventually returned but they have undergone changes by some unknown evil forces.
Speak No Evil was shot entirely in Arizona with locations in and around Apache Junction. The Director Roze and his producing partner wife, Candace Rose both serve as Adjunct Professors at the acclaimed Scottsdale Community College Film School. Many of their past students who are now working in Los Angeles returned to Arizona to work on the movie along with recent graduates and interns from the school.
“We took the opportunity to employ as many of our former students as possible and give up-and-coming talent a chance to gain invaluable experience.” said Candace Rose “Enthusiasm and hard work can make up for lack of experience. There’s nothing like learning through doing. Compared to a classroom, the lessons come quickly, the knowledge is instant and the imprinted memories will last.”
“I’m really proud of the cast and crew;” said the Director, Roze. “They all stepped up and gave their best. My whole producing team did a remarkable job. Considering the time frame and budget, I think you’ll be amazed when you see the results on the screen.”
Speak No Evil is premiering Friday May 24, 2013 at Valley art with an additional showing scheduled for Saturday night at 10:30pm. The Saturday showing will include a Director’s Q & A session directly after the film.
Fans will also be able to view Speak No Evil at the Phoenix Comicon during a free screening at the Phoenix Convention Center May 26, 2013 at 2:30pm.
