Camden County Democratic Committee blames Republican Party for City Municipal Ballot Question, but it was the city’s RESIDENTS who petitioned for the CHANGE.
This Halloween 10/31 @ 12pm – Concerned Residents of Camden N.J will address the “Ghouls & Goblins” of this year’s City Municipal Question, which happen to be the Camden County Democratic Committee. Several city-wide mailings have been sent to the residents of Camden, attempting to deceive voters about the “Camden City Municipal Question”. The misleading alludes President Obama” as supporting voting ‘NO’ on the question, then blaming Republicans for putting the question on the ballot to control Camden City. A NO Vote, leaves Camden residents politically powerless, impoverished, and ignored. A YES Vote, gives Camden residents back their voting voice.
The Camden City Municipal Question was petitioned by over 2,000 residents of Camden City to be present, on the voting ballot this November 5th, 2013. Through hard work , countless volunteers, and a large community effort – the petition was approved. However, the Camden County Democratic Committee is spreading lies through Direct Mailings, stating that the Camden City Municipal Question was initiated by the Republican Party.
After many years of failed attempts, the Camden County Democratic Committee led by party boss George Norcross III, won a close election in 2007 to change Camden voting dates from May to June. This was a calculated maneuver to create a monumental change in the City’s Voting Process.
June Partisan Primary Elections – Disallow Non-Party Affiliated Candidates from participation in June the primary.
May Non-Partisan Elections – Allows all candidates to compete equally.
Candidates Elected in June – Are bracket by Party Affiliation and are placed in the First two Ballot Columns in the General election.
Independent Candidates – Are placed in an obscured location on the ballot, making it nearly impossible to win election.
The Concerned Residents of Camden City are the “Petitioners” of the Municipal City Question for the November 5th’s Ballot. They are composed of residents, veterans, educators, police officers, religious leaders, and elected officials.
Petitioners seek to clarify to the voting public, that information being received from the Camden County Democratic Committee is False and Deceptive. “The Republican Party is not to blame for this local initiative started by residents of Camden City”
The press conference is open to the public and all media outlets are invited to participate. The Concerned Residents of Camden City wish to confront the deception by the Camden County Democratic Committee, and to make clear that the City Municipal Question has nothing to do with the Republican Party.
