ASTEP Announces Cindy Gentry, Senior Partner at Mercer U.S., as New Advisory Board Member

The Asperger Syndrome Training and Employment Partnership (ASTEP) is proud to announce the addition of Cindy Gentry as the newest member of its advisory board.

As a Senior Partner at Mercer U.S., Ms. Gentry has over 27 years of experience delivering client-focused human resource and process improvement solutions. Her extensive experience in HR transformation, competency development and talent management will bolster ASTEP’s mission to improve the quality of life for individuals with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism spectrum profiles through suitable and sustainable employment.

Ms. Gentry holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Berkley in addition to a B.A. from California State University, Chico. In 2012, she was honored with Diversity Journal’s “Women to Watch” award and recently served as architect and lead advisor to Mercer’s “When Women Thrive” research initiative on gender diversity in the workplace.

“Cindy’s strong history in human resource management and advocacy for workplace inclusion make her a natural fit as an advisor to ASTEP,” said Marcia Scheiner, President and Founder of ASTEP. “Given her professional and personal achievements, we are eager to incorporate her perspective into the future of our organization, as we continue to bridge the gap between employers and individuals with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism profiles.”

In her free time, Cindy enjoys hiking and yoga. She has continued to serve as a strong voice of advocacy for persons on the autism spectrum as she has an adult son with Asperger Syndrome.
