Have you always wanted to paint but consider yourself without talent? Stick figures are all that you can draw? Art Teacher Toa Dallo believes that everyone has talent and that under the right guidance and teaching method, can learn to paint a beautiful painting. And his students’ paintings are the proof that his workshop works!
Students from all levels join him for his various oil (acrylic) painting week classes and his Saturday’s workshops.
Toaa Dallo said,
Art is my passion, and I’ll be your guide on this adventure. In my classes, you can choose any subject you like — whatever inspires you. I will give you customized art lessons geared to your particular interests and level of experience. Try your hand at different styles or media — the choice is yours.
During his weekday classes, students bring their canvas and if needed, he will loan them the oil paints, and they choose the subject that inspires them: their pet, a nature scene or a reproduction, it’s up to them.

Saturdays’ workshops – Full and half-days
The Saturday workshops are a bit different. Every Saturday from 11 am to 6 PM, a determined subject is chosen and all the students are taught how to paint it during the workshop. Toaa provides the canvas and the oil paint and takes the students through a step-by-step artistic journey, and at the end of the session, they go home with a beautiful painting. Yes, there’s a lunch break!

This week’s Saturday painting is Field of Flowers
Summertime colors are in season. This brilliant field of sunflowers looks like a Van Gogh daydream, and it will make a spectacular painting! Join us for this special one-day workshop and learn about composition, color, and perspective as we explore this wonderful landscape. And you’ll finish the day with a beautiful painting.
Half-Day Workshops
Saturday, June 16, at Palace Art in Capitola
(Morning 11 am to 2 pm; Afternoon 3 pm to 6 pm)
Try a Quickie Workshop! Join us for the morning session or the afternoon session — or double up and paint all day. The choice is yours!
It’s just $35 for one session or $65 for both. Work on a painting you’ve already started, or try your hand at some fun “art school” painting exercises. We will have lots of subjects to choose from, and plenty of canvases. Cut loose and explore. You might complete two or three pictures in one day!
Weekday Art Classes Fee
Art is fun! Learn how to paint and have a great time, too. You can choose any subject you like — whatever inspires you. It’s just $30 per class or $125 for a series of five classes.
