For the second year in a row, Chrysler Pacifica received the 2019 Good Housekeeping Award. This year it was the Best New Car winner in the Minivan category, while last year it won the honors in the Hybrid category. The Pacifica is the most awarded minivan for 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In partnership with Car and Driver, the experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute screened hundreds of new vehicles before awarding the Pacifica the top honor. Some of the criteria include safety, value, handling, design, comfort, and technology. It was considered the “ultimate family vehicle.”
Chrysler Pacifica Features
Engineers, analysts, and consumers evaluated several vehicle features that included ease of folding and stowing seats, storage, and trunk cargo space. And the fit and installation of child safety seats were also evaluated. What makes the Pacifica unique is its innovative technology like hands-free liftgates, abundant cubbies, and storage bins for toys and snacks, LCD screens for each second-row passenger and an easy-to-navigate infotainment system.
Rear-Entry Conversions
The Chrysler Pacifica is a vehicle that many with disabilities are choosing for conversion to a mobility van. FR Conversions, Chrysler Fleet’s largest mobility second-stage manufacturer, offers extensive mobility features, which is excellent news for anyone requiring a wheelchair van. The conversion is available in both a taxi-cut and a long-cut version and can transport six passengers – including the driver and one wheelchair.
The Pacifica boasts a long list of quality features, including a manual, spring-assisted ramp with a texturized aluminum coated surface to reduce slips and increase traction. The wheelchair ramp meets ADA requirements with an 11 percent grade. Also, a unique welding process helps keep the floor durable and easy to clean.
On mobility conversions, second-row seating is in the original OEM location for two or three passengers. For added safety, the conversions van has four oval “L” track floor pockets and one Q’Straint standard retractable Tie-Down System.
Exceeding Industry Standards
Due to their extensive safety testing, FR Conversions puts the Chrysler Pacifica mobility van through rigorous crash testing that meets or exceeds U.S. Federal Highway and Canadian safety standards. That includes the driver’s side, front, rear, undercarriage, and interior – all tested to exceed vehicle safety standards.
It’s all part of a commitment to safety, quality, comfort, and technology. The company has always maintained its vision to meet or exceed the needs of the physically challenged. In addition, FR Conversions is dedicated to meeting the needs of emergency service providers, municipalities, contractors, and others.
A 3-year, 36,000-mile conversion warranty is also included. And it is approved by the transit authorities of New York, Boston, DC, and Philadelphia.
