Starring Essie Davies in the title role, the show follows a glamorous female detective, The Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher, as she battles crime with her pearl-handled pistol and her dagger sharp wit. This very modern heroine leaves a trail of lovers in her wake and relishes a life lived on the edge.
After many years travelling abroad, Phryne returns home and finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery, before her Aunt Prudence can drag her to her first social. Incredibly the chief murder suspect is none other than Dot Williams, a seemingly innocent Catholic school girl. But all may not be what it appears.
